Chinese Cinderella

The Chinese Cinderella, by Adeline Yen Mah is the actual bibliography of how she was mistreated as a child. Her mother died while giving birth to her, and in 20th Century China, that was a bad omen. Not only did her siblings abuse and neglect her but so did her dad and her new step mother. Her new half brothers and sisters are spoiled rotten as her and her true siblings watch as they get pampered and they clean up after them. One instance of when Adeline is mistreated is when her whole family gets ducks. She loved her little bird, and her siblings rudely fed it to the dogs as amusement. However, in the end Adeline finds her 'Prince charming' and turns out that all her struggles led her to be the well rounded intelligent individual that she is today.

I thought this book was interesting because I really like reading bibliographies, and fairy tales for that matter... But at some points in this book it was just boring. I would recommend it, but it's not for everyone.
